Shane Lee, a Newton, N.C. native, began racing go-karts in 2003 where he spent nine seasons competing in the highest and most prestigious karting events in the southeast. Shane and family-owned Shane Lee Motorsports made the move to stock cars in 2012 where he competed weekly at a nearby local track, Hickory Motor Speedway. It was there that Shane first started to turn heads, earning the 2012 and 2013 Limited Late Model Track Championships and the 2013 North Carolina NASCAR Late Model Rookie of the Year title. Throughout 100 starts in tracks across North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia, Shane picked up 18 wins, 65 top-5’s and 92 top-10’s. In 2016 Shane continued to advance his career, taking his talents to the ARCA Racing Series and NASCAR Camping World Truck Series. Shane made 10 starts in ARCA, earning one top-5, five top-10’s and leading 33 laps throughout the year. He won one Menards Pole Award at Chicagoland Speedway and his best finish came at Pocono Raceway where he took 4th place. In the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series, Shane started in three races at Texas, Gateway and Martinsville and finished on the lead lap in each race. Shane drove the No. 22 Ford Fusion full-time in the ARCA Racing Series for Cunningham Motorsports in 2017 finishing 3rd overall in the points with 8 top fives and 14 top tens. For 2018 Lee will move to the NASCAR Xfinity series to run a partial schedule for Richard Childress Racing in the #3 Chevy Camaro. Shane looks to continue the success and legacy chasing his first NASCAR win in 2018.
